Summer Vacation and Tearful Goodbye

This summer we combined our family vacation with taking Spencer to the Air Force Academy. We spent a couple days with Larry (Kent's brother) and his family. After spending a day relaxing in the hotel with sick kids we headed to Elitch Garden's in Denver (Six Flags).

Spencer, Rachele and Larry were the only ones willing to try bungee flying.

June 24th - Taking Spencer to check into the AirForce Academy in Colo. Springs and waiting in lines.

After walking down the stairs, you are officially enrolled.

June 25th - The next day we went to the swearing in. We are so glad we stayed an extra day! What an amazing, emotional event (tears were flowing)! After one day they are marching in formation with their squadron. Spencer is in the Executioners "E" group. Red is the color for their graduation year. That is why they are all wearing red hats. He will have a summer basic training for about 6 weeks and then start school.
