February 10, 2010, Spencer received his mission call. He had some meetings that night so we waited for him to come home and then Lance and some of his kids came over and we got Spencer on skype to have him open it while we watched and listened. We called Grandma and Grandpa Porter on the phone too while he opened it. As he was reading the part where it says you are called to serve in the ___________ mission, skype sound went out, but we could see him mouth it. We quickly called him on another phone and had him repeat where he was going on speaker phone. It was quite interesting doing it this way. We all gathered around two phones and a computer screen. The joys of technology!
He is called to serve in the Chile, Santiago North Mission and reports to the Provo, Utah MTC on June 29th. We are very excited for him!
